Em um evento realizado nesta terça-feira (23), foi anunciado que a GOG.com, rede de distribuição de jogos para PC conhecida originalmente como Good Old Games, está chegando oficialmente ao Brasil com suporte para pagamentos locais e localização para o português.
A plataforma, uma subsidiária integral da produtora da série Witcher CD Projekt, já começou a adaptar valores dos games que vende — tanto os clássicos quanto modernos — para a nossa moeda. O site ainda não tem opção para a língua portuguesa, mas a tradução deve chegar em breve. Serão aceitos pagamentos com cartões de crédito nacionais através dos sistemas Pagseguro e Paypal, além de boletos bancários.
Marcelo Suplicy e Souza, product manager do GOG no Brasil, afirmou há iniciativas por parte da rede de relançar jogos brasileiros clássicos através do GOG, mas que diversos empecilhos legais impedem que isso seja feito de imediato. Marcelo também afirma que a plataforma está tentando obter o direito para usar traduções antigas de jogos para o português brasileiro, além de incentivar traduções feitas pela comunidade para games
A GOG.com é uma plataforma de distribuição de jogos que não deixa nada a desejar para o Steam, e conta com um belíssimo catálogo de jogos clássicos e antigos. A rede também é livre de sistemas de proteção contra cópias e possuí um aplicativo próprio opcional para gerenciamento de sua biblioteca virtual, nos moldes do serviço de distribuição da Valve, chamado GOG Galaxy.
